“I knew since I was 12 that I wanted to become an au pair. The main reason is, because I love working with children. When I started babysitting at the age of 12, I got to walk through town with a 7-month-old baby. Now, I get to care for a playful, confident 6-year-old girl. Knowing that I was part of that development is an incredible feeling. Taking care of her and taking part in different steps of her life, has shown me how much I enjoy taking care of children and helping them through life. When I become an au pair, I hope to not only be the children’s au pair but become their friend, whom they can trust and even become part of the family. I love meeting and getting to know new people and cultures and want to discover the Canadian country and culture. I look forward living a year with a host family, because I already did it for three months during an exchange to France. That exchange has helped me develop and I gained many new friends. I hope to receive the same when I come to Canada”
